The history of Croatia through out the last 20 years is one that has been filled with pain, suffering and conflict, however throughout the tough times, the people have always stuck together. During these times people would still gather in bars, pubs and cafes, to meet, talk, drink and perhaps play a few games of pool. The most popular table at these times was the Merit Billiard table, manufactured by Merit s.p.o. with over 5000 tables sold it was not uncommon to find a table on every street, not just in Croatia however, also in all of the Former Yugoslavian (SFRJ) countries including Serbia and Bosnia & Herzegovina.

  The picture on the right is the famus Merit s.p.o.'s "Panter", a revolutionary first in the world full steel construction Billiard table patented by Merit in the late 1980's. The fully steeled construction was not the only improvment, there were many of more or less important breakthroughts which all lead to the fact that still today most of theese tables are fully functional.

  Lemna now have plans to release a new version of the Merit table, the original ceased being manufactured in the early nineties. These tables promise to be a huge success with interest already being shown from bars and cafes to wholesalers. This revival is part of the heritage of the country and the popularity of the table is sign of the status of Lemna. There is already a prototipe finished wich You can see in our PC Club, the picture on the left is that of the prototype in our club.
